What do you think of this house design? - mediterranean home design
It is in this way in various parts of the Mediterranean. I do not see how there are no houses like Toronto, we say. However, the lack of architectural taste and money could be the reason.
OK, let's say we have a lot of homeless people. The size of the package is the outer wall of the house. After 5 meters from the outer wall, which we are building and interior walls.
The room is located in a garden. Inner wall have large windows that can slide open. The windows are too small for the privacy and the reflection of heat.
Something like that

I think "in 2009, would be happy anywhere in the world, allowing you to what to build on the table, by modern standards of new development.
The earthquake in Italy a few months ago, there are many buildings were destroyed, and how I want to be set up as new in the grounds of the Heritage table.
But I do not see in Italy that new IMO and rebuild it.
I love these houses, but are fighting hard to allow for the zoning easements and regulatory changes by building on the property line, there are a variety of settings necessary back-lines.
It is also used bricks, which requires a large amount of energy to produce, but chooses CEB, compressed earth blocks.
It is formed mainly produced by rammed earth blocks of strong hydraulic presses, and the country can often directly on the site, a further energy savings made. Adding a few blocks from fly ash are much stronger, which acts as a cement and helps with the removal of the ashes of several industrial processes such as coal-fired power plants.
Whatever you build, you need a minimum of R-20 insulation in walls and at least R-40 in the ceiling, but there were twice as many treatments of isolation, while the rising energy costs, and continue to grow.
Check with double walls made of mud walls, or stabilized SIRE: this is a new method for the construction of mud walls with a core ofrigid insulation. See the link for it.
And of course, the same effect can be achieved by designing and building a house of straw bales are produced only large stones, covered with lime or cement or.
The R-value of these walls is between R-40 and R is 45, depending on the density of straw (or a result of hemp, which are available in Ontario) are compressed, but can be up to R-68 when it decide, with 36 "jumbo-range balls to build.
For more information on the construction of self, Ontario, Ontario, see pages straw bale construction for the Coalition (OSBBC link.)

There are very few houses made of straw bales in Ontario, and at least one of the more numerous in Quebec located in the heart of Montreal.
While OSBBC site, watch the video of what happens in a straw hut in a strong earthquake (hint: not much.)
Back to your question: I like this kind of neighborhood and is located in the historic part of Quebec City and Montreal. These are the true CaNadian Heritage styles that are reallocated to net-zero energy can capacity.
Cheers,
